This week topic is about healthy diet .
Food choices according to food groups .
We should eat more of the rice and alternative .
E.g
Rice
White Bread
Wholemeal Bread
Noodles
Spaghetti
Yam
Potato
Bao
Mantou
Bee Hoon
Chapatti
Biscuit
Corn
Roti Prata
And.. So on .
Eating healthily not only includes choosing the right food
But also includes having a Variety of Food .
Variety means having not only one type of food .
And we should have Moderation in eating
Moderation means eating just the right amount for every type of food you eat .
Next is Balance .
Balance.
E.g
You may need one Macdonald Meal to satisfy for your needs.
However , your grandmother may just need a packet of fries to satisfy her needs.
In conclusion , you have to eat according to your needs .
If not , you may just get fat .
The healthiest group of food is the Rice and Alternatives .
They are the staple food for many people from other regions .
Rice and alternatives are healthiest for us because they are rich in complex carbohydrate
and complex carbohydrate takes longer time to turn into our energy and sugar .
and satisfies our hunger for a much longer time , so we will not get hungry so easily .
Rice may be polished or unpolished .
Polished rice are not as healthy as unpolished rice as polished rice's Germ and Bran are already being shaved off .
Singapore is now promoting healthy diet to Singaporeans.
We are advised to
- Take more rice and alternatives
- Take less oily food and soft drinks
And , DRINK MORE PLAIN WATER !
